A single structure building with a total area of 40,500 sf, Indian Wells Elementary School is located on a 150-acre site bordering Navajo Route 15. The design meets the State of Arizona facility square footage requirements while incorporating culturally significant features and design elements.
Classrooms are arrayed in a clockwise orientation in ascending grade levels. The circulation sequence begins with kindergarten on the southeast and ending with 5th grade at the northwest. Project planning involved close coordination with the superintendent of schools, school administration, and Indian Wells Chapter Residents. The site arrangement provides excellent visibility and access from adjacent highways.
