This project, located on the Northern New Mexico College campus, consists of a major two-story addition to the existing library (Ben Lujan Learning Resource Center, 1980). The library is envisioned to be the centerpiece of activity for the college. An open-plan interior layout provides a variety of individual and group study experiences, with noisy to quiet environments. The layout offers small rooms for group study, private study pods, study carrels, lounge chair groupings, six-station computer tables, and linear counter stool-height study bars. Open plan provides future space-planning flexibility, book stacks and library furniture can be rearranged, reduced or expanded to suit evolving functional trends.
